Asteroid could impact Earth and wipe out life | September 2015

A large asteroid is heading towards Earth and as the potential to wipe out all life on the planet. That is the view of biblical theorists at least, who envisage a large impact which will kick off the Rapture.

Asteroids generally break up once they come into contact with the Earth's atmosphere. However, a small number of church and religious groups firmly believe that a cataclysmic event will take place sometime between September 22nd and 28th this year where a huge asteroid will impact the planet in a deadly fashion.

However, there is no scientific evidence to back up the claims of these conspiracy theorists. A statement from NASA said "NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small. In fact, as best as we can tell, no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years."

Believers of the impending disaster remain steadfastly convinced that the event will take place and that it will cause severe damage to the planet's climate systems. They are convinced that the large impact from the asteroid will mark eh beginning of the Rapture when Jesus Christ will return to the world and make his judgements.
