Cleveland monsters to be questioned today
The FBI will question today the three Cleveland monsters that held Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina de Jesus captive in a house for ten years. Thanks to neighbour Charles Ramsey, the girls were freed yesterday - together with a 6 years old girl, probably the daughter of one of them - and luckily they were all in good health, despite the harrowing experience. The evil brothers - Ariel, Onil and Pedro Castro - allegedly kidnapped the girls between 2002 and 2004, and for all these years they kept them in a cellar, subjecting them to all sorts of violence and degradation.
Usa Today has gathered at least three different statements from people living nearby describing how in the past they have phoned the police after seeing some naked girls in the horror house's backyard being forced to move around on all fours while held on a leash by the Castro brothers. Apparently, they were left waiting for hours and no agent ever showed up to investigate. As Lupe Collins, one of the girls' close family friend, explains: "Everyone in the neighbourhood did what they had to do, the police didn't do their job."
Jennifer Ciaccia, Cleveland police spokesperson, said that the three siblings will be first questioned and then charged later today, adding: "This is just the tip of the iceberg. This investigation will take a very long time". In fact, as more disturbing details emerge, it seems a miracle that the three girls managed to get out alive and in good conditions, nevertheless, it's going to take time for them to come to terms with the ordeal and fully explain what went on.
