'Dancing Man' has had a blast partying away with A-List celebrities in LA this weekend turning a horrible situation into an amazing one. Liverpudlian Sean O'Brien found himself the subject of fat shaming and ridicule after a video of him dancing appeared online back in March.
The video in question, which earned O'Brien his 'Dancing Man' moniker, was published on social networking site 4Chan along with a message which read "Spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week. He stopped when he saw us laughing." The post drew massive attention and dozens of commenters were guilty of fat-shaming O'Brien.
However, a number of high profile celebrities leapt to O'Brien's defence over the bullying comments including Pharrell Williams, Meghan Trainor and Ellie Goulding. This weekend he had an absolute blast stateside appearing and dancing on the Today Show with Trainor as well as throwing the traditional first pitch at Major League Baseball game between the LA Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
But that was all just preamble as he headed to top LA club Avalon to a special party for him with 1,000 revellers. He was joined there by Trainor, rock star Andrew WK and anti-bullying campaigner Monica Lewinsky while Pharrell Skyped in to the huge event which Moby stepped in as DJ in support of Dancing Man.
Andrew WK said of O'Brien's ordeal "Probably one of the worst things that ever happened to Sean, or that I can imagine happening to anybody, has turned out to probably be one of the best things that has ever happened to him." Dancing Man spoke positively of his whole experience saying "I’ve met some of the most wonderful people you can imagine. It’s been truly life-changing."
