An assassination plot agains Prince Charles was heard at a court hearing at The Old Bailey by a man who felt he had been "belittled for being red-haired. Mark Colborne hatched a plan where killing Prince Charles and second in line to the throne Prince William would mean that red-haired Prince Harry would become King of England.
Prosecutor Annabel Darlow told the court that Colborne suffers from depression and agoraphobia and as a result he leads quite an isolated life. He was arrested on the 3rd of June 2014 when his mother Patricia and brother Kevin discovered a large amount of suspicious equipment in his bedroom along with chemicals and documents.
Kevin discovered papers detailing racial hatred and terrorism plots upon inspecting his "cluttered" bedroom. 37 year old Colborne is from Southampton and feels that as he was "belittled by society" he would react by becoming a "fully-transformed military terrorist".
Entries from the papers penned by Colborne were read aloud at The Old Bailey and one referring to Prince Charles read "Wouldn't it be great to have a military silent rifle, take up a good stealth position and put a bullet in Charles' head. I would sacrifice my life for that one shot. Kill Charles and Prince Harry becomes king. Kill the tyrants and become free from tyrannical future rule."
Another entry read "I will put a major dent in England, one that is felt around the world. If for some reason I cannot perform a major operation then I will still opt for low-level attacks." The court also heard how a number of chemicals purchased by Colborne in March 2014 amounted to the essential ingredients of cyanide. Mr. Colborne has denied the charge of preparing terrorist acts.
