There are many reasons why you will have a pet around you. Companionship tops the list, of course. For instance, dogs and cats are great companions. They are loving and will protect you at all cost even at the expense of their lives. Other compelling reasons include having a routine and being able to exercise. A pet also forces you to take care of something and go out. In the process, you will meet people and make new friends.
