Police officers in Haringey were contacted at 00:35 a.m. on Monday in regards to a burglary in Tottenham. They headed to Woodside Road thinking they were searching for two men only to discover something entirely different.

They arrived and were unfortunately unable to find any trace of the burglars, but they did come across a large cannabis factory with the help of the police dogs. According to a Metropolitan Police spokesperson, there have been no arrests yet.

The police also came across a list of house rules tacked up on the wall. One of them being, “No smoking anywhere in the house. Even with the door/window open”.

Cannabis is a Class B drug and is the most widely used illegal drug in the United Kingdom. It is illegal to possess, grow, distribute or sell without appropriate licences.

Recently though people have become much more vocal about liberalising drug laws. Aberystwyth University student James Richard Owen started a petition on the government's official website pushing for the legalisation of the cultivation, sale and use of cannabis. It received over 221,000 signatures and was debated on the 12th of October by MP’s.
