Ricardo Medina Jr, better known for playing the Red Power Ranger, has been arrested on charges of murdering his roommate in California. It is believed that the victim died as a result of being stabbed in the stomach by a sword.
36 year old Medina Jr was living with Joshua Sutter in Palmdale, California and it seems that the two became embroiled in a heated argument shortly before things took a dire turn. An LAPD police spokesperson said "The victim and the suspect became involved in an argument, which turned into a physical altercation."
Medina Jr's girlfriend was present at the apartment at the time and it appears that the two of them took refuge in Medina Jr's room when Sutter forced his way in through a closed door. The LAPD spokesperson explained "The victim followed them and forced the door open. The suspect stabbed the victim once in the abdomen with a sword kept next to the bedroom door."
Sutter was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. Medina Jr called police himself immediately after calling for an ambulance and he as since been arrested with bail being set at $1 million. Medina Jr's Wikipedia page has been updated and reads "Ricardo Medina, Jr. (born July 6, 1977 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor of Puerto Rican descent, and the first Puerto Rican Power Ranger to be accused of murder."
The actor made his debut as the Red Power Ranger in 2002 on the TV series Power Rangers Wild Force. The Red Power Ranger uses a sword in the show and Medina Jr was accomplished at handling such a weapon for the role. He later played the role of Deker in later series Power Rangers Samurai.
