A Business Professor at Texas A&M in Galveston, Texas has done the unthinkable and failed his entire class after they angered him so much. Irwin Horwitz did not hold back on his assessment of the group saying "This class is unique. It is very rare that I fail students. Sometimes learning incorporates tough love."

Horwitz felt that this year's class was the worst he has ever taught in a 20 year career and contacted all the students by email to let them know they had failed. In the email, students were left in little doubt that they were not even close to being good enough to pass the class.

In the email, Horwitz said "I have never in my capacity as an academic ever encountered a class as completely disgraceful and disrespectful as this. Not even close." He added that a number of unsavoury incidents had occurred with the group such as being "called a “f****** moron” several times by a student to my face" and being forced to listen "to many hurtful and untrue rumors about myself, my wife and other colleagues."

He continued his email attack on the group of students saying "None of you, in my opinion, given the behavior in this class, deserve to pass, or graduate to become an Aggie, as you do not in any way embody the honor that the university holds graduates should have within their personal character. In my 20 years of teaching I have never seen nor taught a class with less honor than this. This class is an embarrassment in general, and fully out of line with the Honor Code purported by Texas A&M."

Horwitz concluded his email by revealing that the experience of teaching this particular class has forced him to stop teaching the subject. He said "I am frankly and completely disgusted. For the above reasons I will no longer be teaching the course, and all are being awarded a failing grade." However, Horwitz is known to be a tough teacher at the best of times so this class are being investigated and their papers will all be regraded.
