Unknown motive for couple that went on killing spree in San Bernardino, CA
On Wednesday afternoon 2 people stormed into a social services agency in Bernardino in Southern California killing 14 and injuring 17. The motive for this shooting spree is still unknown.
Employees at the social services agency, Inland Regional Center, were enjoying a christmas party when Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik came in and open fired on the workers. The two were shooting with .223 calibers which were legally purchased. They were also said to have placed bombs around the building which were eventually disabled.
Farook worked as a public health employee and was an inspector at the Center. He was attending the christmas party and apparently stormed out. He then returned with his wife and the pair started firing.
The police were notified and the couple fled away in a black SUV. A pursuit started during which the 28 year-old husband shot at the police while the 27 year-old wife drove. It ended in a shootout where the couple both died leaving their 6 month old child.
Police believe that this was a planned attack given the guns and bombs that they used. This has been the deadliest shooting in the United States since the Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
