Woman warned by religious neighbour to 'tone down' her 'relentlessly gay' garden

A woman from Maryland in the States was shocked to be told by a neighbour to "tone down" her "relentlessly gay" yard or they would call the police on them. The warning was written by a Christian home owner concerned about what effect the yard would have on local Christian children.

Julie Baker from Baltimore was shocked to find a typed note pinned to her door which read "Dear Resident of Kenwood Avenue, Your yard is becoming Relentlessly Gay! Myself and others in the neighbourhood ask that you Tone It Down. This is a Christian area and there are Children."

47 year old Baker had recently decorated her garden with rainbow coloured lanterns which some of her neighbours seemingly took offence to. The note continued "Keep it up and I will be Forced to call the Police on You! Your kind need to have respect for GOD." before signing off with "A Concerned Home Owner".

Baker is openly bi-sexual and a mother to 4 kids herself so the last thing she would intend to do is offend children. She reported the note to local Police as being harassing but was told that no crime had been committed against her.

Ms. Baker has responded to the offensive note by starting a GoFundMe page with the message "Put simply, I am a widow and the mother of four children, my youngest in high school and I WILL NOT Relent to Hatred. Instead, I will battle it with whimsy and beauty and laughter and love, wrapped around my home, yard and family!!! Thanks for your relentlessly gay support!" So far the page has seen over $23,000 dollars raised in less than a day shattering her $5,000 goal.
